Logan Bright — Works

fresh first drafts, daily

Tag: sunshine

poem: fall has come (and gone) again

fall has come (and gone) again
in one bombastic day
sky congealed with clouds of iron
rough, unburnished grey
breezes pull a blanket ’round
my bare (but hairy) legs
asking, “Where’s the summer at?”
drapes pulled against its dregs
sunshine, rise again tomorrow,
I’ll be at the reigns!

poem: how’s that, familiar?

how’s that, familiar?
early is best
get all the sunshine you can
pick up from darkness
well that’s where we left it
today I just won’t brush
my hair
