feeling courageous ’bout prayed-for rampages
rain is ashamed of the pavement it’s spraying
invective reflective of water-soaked streets
just a few months ’til it’s turning to sleep
grey all day, same same

poem: hard to explain feeling pained every day
hard to explain feeling pained every day
racked and ashamed by my choices, each made
when the full light of day gets pushed back for the shade
still, there’s no rain on my one-man parade
poem: on windy days it’s raining pain
on windy days it’s raining pain
broken glass from flat champagne
eggs as mortars, broken eggs
eye are peeled
but still no Legs
poem: reaching out and prodding
reaching out and prodding
in a gentle, pushy way
make them see my side of things
at once
rain in the world again
dusting off my rainboots
then I’ll leave the war room
just the same
poem: somewhat warmed up
somewhat warmed up
as the rain comes down
taking up a cold seat
right below downtown
noises of a loving fight
drift from down the hall
pick it up and let it fall
that’s all
poem: watching for rain
watching for rain
puddling in pot holes
waiting to take out
a foot
or a wheel
and change the whole course
of your day
