half-hearted attempt
but attempt isn’t all
it is waiting and working and writing some more
it is getting on up and it’s staying in, home,
’til you trade it all back
for a box

poem: invited in, sure,

invited in, sure,
but not welcomed.
so I backed away, and left her there
wedged inside a box
of felt, with flimsy edges
I’ve one full of secrets too
