Wednesday Addams: a Story Circle
Wednesday Addams, of the famous family, forty-three years old, living in the house that once belonged to her parents. She hadn’t had a date in the seven years since Pugsley’d died. Wednesday puts an ad online with a plain photograph and a ponderous but fascinating personal essay. For seven years more she sifts the results, keeping the photo and essay periodically updated. At 50, Wednesday receives a reply and for the first time, she doesn’t delete it. She meets him, a youngish man with strong calves, only once. She senses he is interested in her only as an item of kitsch, and ends the date early with her silent departure. To this day Wednesday is online, but she no longer uses a photograph.
